Statistic No More Yet Still Going For More
Mood: Thankful
Music: The rustling of the leaves on a warm Saturday afternoon
As of March 16, 2006, I am officially employed. I am no longer a digit behind the decimal point of the ever-increasing unemployment rate. I now work for the NCAA as Media Affairs Assistant Coordinator. Thank God I got out of bumhood.
The job itself is not really that much of a glamour job. It's a far cry from what is expected of a graduate of an IT related field. My parents were not really too thrilled about it, but they were still glad I got a job. They were really expecting me to go for Accenture or something.
I for one don't really give a shit about getting a job that is related to my field of study. Being part of Media Affairs is more of a Communications degree-holder's gig, I know. But because of my experience in working for the Student Publications Office (SPO), I fell in love with the communications industry. For me, what's important is I love what I do.
And right now, I do.
I'm also planning to take another job because the nature of my current one is only part-time. The other one I'm aiming for is a full-time Editorial Assistant position at a magazine. I hope and pray that it works out, as well.
